Some projects I've participated in, or helped organize
For the month of March, 2014, I took a leave of absence from Google to work with a crew of people called the Ad Hoc on fixing Healthcare.gov in time for the end of the open enrollment period. It was a hell of a ride, but something I'm passionate about: we should all have healthcare.
I've been working as part of the Man Pavilion (neé Man Base) Lighting Crew for about a decade. We do the artistic lighting for the structure the Man stands in or on. One of my favorite moments was seeing a night picture of our work in Time magazine in 2009. It looked similar to this photo. I feel like that was a turning point of public awareness of the event. Also, it was just beautiful.
Since 2006, I've been a volunteer with the BRC Rangers. From 2010 to 2015, I was involved with the BRC Ranger Mentors, training and evaluating the next generation of mentors.
Team Obnots for the 48 Hour Film Project. The Harvard Crimson mentioned A-pearl-calypse Now!.
Until 2008, I was an organizer and the Ranger Coordinator for Firefly, a participatory, community-driven interactive arts festival held in Vermont (usually July 4th weekend!)
